It's An ObamaNation!!

The “Stimulus Bill” was signed today with all the transparency and time for public inspection promised by Mr. Obama – right. It’s a sad, sad, day when any Senator and Representative votes “Yes” on a massive spending bill created in smoky back rooms, kept a secret from anyone outside the liberal inner circle, and even more despicable, a bill they have not even READ. Of course the liberals who supported this barrel of bacon may have received a few more conservative votes if they have not locked out republicans from all committee meetings, perhaps allowed those on the right to make some inputs, and provided the final 1000 plus page draft more than 10 hours before Congress was pressured into a vote so Queen Pelosi could make her dinner reservations in Italy (at tax payer expense, of course). So much for the “Transparency” Mr. Obama promised during the election. Well, surprise, surprise, the liberal lies.
So what has this pork laden piece of crap given us so far, well for one, the stock market immediately tanked, so your 401K just lost even more value. So with no retirement, you will be totally dependent on the government – gee, could this be the plan? And while Nancy Pelosi’s pet mice will receive millions of our tax dollars, the rest of us are headed for a lower standard of living. With fewer and fewer foreign governments willing to loan us trillions of dollars, our government will have no choice but to begin printing money like mad to pay for their pork. Which any economist will tell you sets off out of control inflation which results in much higher interest rates. Golly gee, won’t that be fun! Think of these “porky” bills as heroin to a first time drug user – the first three or four shots feel really good. But after they become hooked, the cure of withdrawal is much more painful than any pleasure initially received from the drug.
But you shouldn’t mind because in the words of Senator “Smuck” Schumer, (D) NY, regarding Pork in legislation, Americans don’t really care! Well, Chuck, I kind of do. I guess the fine Democrat from NY believes that since liberals have been pissing away our tax dollars for so long, that we should just go with the flow…. (Pardon the pun)
Bottom line on this bill is, grab your ankles – you are about to be stimulated.

Meet the New Deal, Same as the Old Deal

With much apology to The Who and their song “Won’t Get Fooled Again”, I sit here listening to the new President telling me how spending 800 plus billion of our tax dollars is going to get us out of this economic mess. I feel I must remind Mr. President that the last Democrat that tried a ‘New Deal’ didn’t save our economy from the great depression – in fact, it had little impact, if any. Both economists and historians will tell you WWII brought our country out of the great depression, not government intervention.
But, it appears we are headed towards a bigger national debt -- and now I understand what “Change” this Democrat brought to the White House. President Obama is definitely NOT a “Tax and Spend” Democrat. He’s a “Spend and Tax” Democrat. You would be a ‘Fool’ to think that someone won’t have to pay for this bacon which they call an Economic Stimulus Bill. That 'someone' will be you and me. Your taxes will be going up – and it’s just a matter of time before we start hearing about how a ‘modest’ tax increase is needed.

It's An Oinker!!!

The Economic Stimulus bill is headed to the Senate and it appears some Republicans have finally ‘grown a pair’. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell has appropriately pointed out this so called stimulus bill has little to do with stimulating the economy and everything to do about pork. All I can say is,, it’s about time someone spoke up. Meanwhile, the White House seems befuddled that anyone would oppose anything proposed and supported by our new President. Their response has been the old tried and true liberal tactic of demonizing the opposition by stating this is “No Time for Partisanship”. What they really should be saying is “Do What We Want”.
Well, excuse us, Mr. President, if some of us conservatives still believe in Capitalism and aren’t buying into the idea of a Socialist America.

Save the Economy! Wear a Condom!!

The “Queen of Congress” is at it again. Nancy Pelosi feels we need to give the states hundreds of millions of dollars of your money to fund the expansion of family planning services. I can only assume the theory here is if you increase the availability of birth control and make abortions widely available, it will decrease health care cost to the states. Or in her words justifying the expenditure during an interview with ABC, “The family planning services reduce cost. One of the elements of this package is assistance to the states. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children's health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those - one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government." All I can say is “WHAT???” I heard a bunch of words come out of her mouth, but she didn’t say anything – but, what else should I expect from a Democrat?
I would like to point out if a Republican had stated the same, they would have been branded a racist by the Al Sharpton crowd, with the implication being that all of the evil rich Republicans want low income people to stop reproducing – but since Pelosi is a democrat in good standing, the liberal press will give her the usual free pass.

The Party Is Over......

Congratulations President Obama. The 08 campaign is really over. Now it’s time to get to work. As I listened to the orgasmic wailings of the liberal throng who attended the inauguration, I heard something from our new President about us all being Americans and we needed to put partisan politics aside and work together. I wish him well in this endeavor. Certainly he faces some challenges breaking down barriers. President Obama probably realized this when a round of “Boos” came from his loyal supporters when President Bush appeared on the scene at the inauguration. This was reinforced when some fun loving liberals defaced the monument of George H. W. Bush in Houston on the day of the inaugural by writing “No More Bush” in yellow paint on the statue of the former president.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid obviously is interested in reaching across party lines with he declared “I really do believe President Bush is the worst president we’ve ever had.” Even former President Jimmy “ 55 MPH” Carter referred to President Bush’s administration the “Worst in History”. More evidence liberals really want to just “get along”.
So good luck, Mr. President – it appears your fellow liberal democrats are ready to support you, just as long as everyone else goes along with them.

Thanks W......

Tonight, President George W. Bush gave his farewell address to the nation. We all need to give pause and think about what this man has brought us through over the last eight years. Right out of the box, on September 11th, 2001, America suffered its worst attack on our soil since Pearl Harbor. Our President stood on the ruble of the World Trade Center and declared war on those responsible for bringing harm to America and our citizens. He took charge, and he made decisions based on the best information at the time, and went after those who had and would plot to destroy America. He made the hard decision to liberate Iraq, and remove from power and tyrant on equal to Adolf Hitler – and yes, even though Osama Bin Laden hasn’t been captured, we haven’t seen nor heard much from him in seven years. And even though these events were more than any President had faced since WWII, he is now faced with an economic crisis that has shaken the faith of many in America’s financial future.
One constant during his presidency, was the continual attack by liberals, and with their allies in the press, they painted President Bush as everything from Hitler to the Anti-Christ. President Bush never received one ounce of support from those who raved about his predecessor, whose most difficult executive decision was to have his Willy waxed by an intern. But, being a class act, President Bush never yielded to the temptation to get down in the mud with his enemies.
In the final analysis, President Bush led us through some very dark days – with class and dignity. So I just wanted to say, “Thanks W”, I’ll miss you – and we all owe you a debt of gratitude for a job well done. And for those that hated you over these last eight years, well, I guess they won’t have old George W. Bush to kick around anymore.

Uncle Sam or Santa Claus?

Used to be in this country that businesses which were successful were rewarded and failure in business was punished – that’s how capitalism worked. Now, if you fail, it’s no problem – Uncle Sam using taxpayer dollars will reward you for your failure. Such is the case with the failed investment firm AIG, who plans on paying bonuses to their managers with YOUR money. Let me repeat that – YOUR money, which the government had to borrow, which will eventually be paid through higher taxes – which will prolong any economic recovery.
While our elected leaders reward business failures, we need to consider what signal this sends to businesses that are successful. Whose managers are making the hard but necessary management decisions, taking calculated risks, so they can succeed in turning a profit during these hard economic times.
If you were the hard noised manager of a successful business, and realized that the government was now covering any losses you experienced from making bad decisions or outlandish risks, what incentive would you have to manage efficiently and effectively? Knowing Uncle Sam come in like Santa Claus and bail you out, therefore rewarding you for bad decisions or miss management, you could pay out big bonuses, never have to lay anyone off even though there was not enough work to keep them, and pretend we are still living in economic good times.
We need to tell Uncle Sam put away the red stocking cap and stop helping – it sends the wrong signal to business leaders. Corporate welfare checks have got to stop so the laws of economics can play out during this economic downturn. While painful, it’s the quickest way to get the country back on track.
