Keeping America Safe

Thanks goodness at this time of government shutdown, our President has put up "Obamacades" to keep our outdoor memorials safe. As you see in this picture, you can imagine the danger we would have faced if these wheelchair bound WWII vets had been allowed access to the WWII monument in Washington DC. Oh, the Humanity! We owe our fearless President all of the credit here. Mr. President, job well done! Now, if our President had only put half of the effort protecting the embassy in Benghazi Libya, perhaps four brave Americans would still be alive today.

White House Incident Today

If you have not heard, a woman tried to ram through one of the White House gates today. I wanted to put up a quick post to predict Harry Reid and/or Nancy Pelosi blaming this attack on Tea Party radicals in an effort to further blame Republicans for the Government Shutdown.
UPDATE: Just hours after the car chase at the White House ended in the death of the person driving the Infiniti coupe, Representative Sheila Jackson Lee, Democrat from Texas, said the incident is linked to the government shutdown. She stated the House (meaning the Republicans) should pass a clean Continuing Resolution (CR) without any attachments and "God knows, the tragedy of this poor person who came on the Hill in a black car. No one knows what drives this person to do this… But what I would say to you is let's get our wheels back on” The Old NCO fails to see the connection, but most of what Liberals say doesn't usually make sense anyway.

Who's Gonna Pay for Obamacare?

Well, Obamacare is here and the web sites are open for business. The President promised “affordable” care for all Americans. I wonder what Obama’s definition of “affordable” is… And I wonder where all of this money to pay for Obamacare is coming from? Well, now that the Federal Government is in the insurance business, let’s compare them to their for profit counterparts. For profit insurance companies use the principle of insuring a large group of people who probably won’t need the insurance they have sold them. They do this by screening individuals for their health factors and consider the risks before they sell them health insurance. This minimizes their risk and maximizes profits. Now we all know that trying to make a profit is an evil thing according to liberals, so enter Obamacare. Obamacare will insure anyone regardless of their health or pre-existing conditions. Therefore, from a financial standpoint, risk is much higher. And since Obamacare is “affordable”, profits will be minimized. So where is the money coming from to pay for the high percentage of those that will actually use the insurance they purchased through Obamacare? Well, the President is hoping all of the Obama Youth, or if you prefer, the Obamazombies, who are young and healthy will run out and buy health insurance through Obamacare. Currently, the fine if you don’t buy Obamacare is $95.00, which will be collected by another trusted government institution, the IRS. The costs of the Obamacare mid tier Silver Plan is $328 and month. Considering health insurance is not high on the priority list of many young Americans, which one do you think they will opt for? $95 or $328? While the President is counting on his youthful minions to all buy Obamacare plans, the Old NCO doubts they will. So, back to my basic question – who’s gonna pay. Well, unless President Obama plans to let his legacy legislation implode financially, YOU will foot the bill for the financial shortfall Obamacare is destined to rack up. But take comfort, all of you Obama supporters, that is how Socialism works.

Obamacare NOW!!!!

Nancy Pelosi stated in March 2010 “But we have to pass the [health care] bill so that you can find out what’s in it....” Well, I think it’s time to take it one step further, and say “Lets fully implement ALL provisions of the Affordable Care Act NOW, so we can feel its full effects”. That means no delays, no deferments for big business, no deferment for the individual mandate to sign up for Obamacare, and full implementation of all of the fees and fines contained in the law. I subscribe to the theory that if you suspect a Federal law is bad, you need to implement and enforce all of its provisions, to include all of the painful ones. This seems to be the only way Americans take notice that the government has inflicted pain into their daily lives. The last best example of this would when President Nixon signed an Executive Order in 1973 mandating a national 55 MPH speed limit. The idea was we would all get better gas mileage and end America’s dependence on foreign oil – it was sort of a gut check response to the OPEC oil embargo. (If you don’t remember what that was, go Google it). To ‘enforce’ this Federal mandate on the states, (who regulate their state’s speed limit) the ‘painful’ provision was unless the state complied, and made their maximum speed limit 55 MPH, they would be denied any Federal money to help maintain and build highways. When President Carter came into office, in an August 1977 speech, he endorsed the ‘greater good’ of better MPG, pointing out there were fewer traffic fatalities, and on average, oil consumption had fallen. He re-emphasized the need for states to enforce the national speed limit. But as far as the American people supporting the law with all of its good intentions, it didn’t turn out that way. Seems when State Troopers starting handing out speeding tickets faster than the government prints money, the backlash came fast and furious. The average American rebelled and let their elected officials how they felt about driving at a snail’s pace. State legislatures begin accepting the pain of not receiving Federal funds for their highways, as they knew the pain they would experience at the ballot box next election day would be much greater. America rallied around Sammy Hagar’s popular song of the day “I can’t drive Fifty Five!”, and as slow as 55 MPH, the federal mandate eventually went away. Fast forward to 2013 -- If Obamacare is fully implanted now, the sooner the average American will ‘feel the pain’ of the Socialization of health care – and the backlash will begin from the “hard working” Americans liberals love to champion. And just one more thing -- where’s Sammy Hagar when you need him?

Harry The Hypocrite

Well, here the Old NCO sits in one of the newest monuments to Capitalism, the Aria hotel/casino in Las Vegas. And when I say monument to Capitalism, I mean that as a compliment. This place is phenominal -- full of affulent, and some not so much, people shopping and gambling, and most importantly, deciding where THEY want to spend THEIR money THEY earned. Many people will save for months to come to Vegas for one week of unbridled spending on fun! But, that got me to thinking, what if Las Vegas, the town that drives the economy of Senator Harry Reid's beloved Nevada, lived by the ecomonic system he and his President cherish and worship, the "Spread the wealth around" system of Socialism/Communism? Well, to implement Harry & Barack's system of choice, all workers would share in the profits equally. All hotel/casinos would become "collectives", where the barista at Starbucks would make the same as the CEO of Caesar's Palace. The tax on anyone visiting Vegas would be 70 to 80 percent, as anyone who could come to Vegas would be considered part of the "Evil Rich". It's not hard to imagine that in one year, Las Vegas would be a ghost town and the desert would reclaim the real estate. Vegas would look like it has been depicted in many post apocolyptic movies, with all the hotels crumbling and covered in sand. This is what happens when you take away ecomonic incentives from people -- if every one is guarenteed an equal slice of the pie, then why work? Problem is, after a little while, there's no pie left, and we all live in poverty, but hey, at least Harry and Barack can say we all have the same!

Zero Credibility

Mr. President, can you hear that? That’s the rest of the world snickering – snickering at you. And due to the fact you hold the office of the President of the United States, that means the world is laughing at all of us. Like Vladimir Putin of Russia – who thumbs his nose at America when our President states “he should not have to call anyone”, in regards to Russia returning Edward Snowden, the former contractor at the NSA who blew the whistle on the government’s spying on Americans. Like Bashar al-Assad, President of Syria, who continues to slaughter his people, laughing off President Obama’s “Red Line” empty threats. Proof was available months ago that Assad used gas on his citizens, but the Obama administration stated they needed more facts. That sounds a lot like; don’t cross this line, (and then they do), so we say then this line, then this line, then this line – while Syrians continue to die. America has no credibility in the world anymore. We are quickly becoming a second rate power due to our President, who started out the Socialist Messiah, and is now nothing more than Bozo the Clown. Unfortunately, all Americans will suffer because of it.

The Worst Job in the World

I always get those emails from time to time with pictures of the worst jobs in the world. Usually, they involve an elephant, a very large pile of fecal matter and some poor slob with a shovel. But, these days, with the White House under fire for numerous scandals, the worst job in the world has to be the White House Press Secretary. And the poor slob with that job is Jay Carney. You gotta feel for this guy. Obama just lets him go out there every day and get hammered by the press. At least Nixon had the decency to tell his press secretary what lies to tell. It’s really a shame that John Ehrilchman and Bob Haldeman aren't still alive, as they could provide Mr. Carney some pristine advice – and that is, when you know your boss is covering up stuff, resign and save yourself from being fired and disgraced. At a minimum, you wouldn't have to serve time in a resort prison in the panhandle of Florida. But the old NCO has to say he respects Jay Carney. Even though he works for a fool, he is loyal. I just hope he doesn't think there will be a reward when he leaves the job. Perhaps he can get a spot on Dancing with the Stars – If he’s learned anything from being Obama’s Press Sec, it’s how to dance.
